Polish Aircraft Violates Belarusian Airspace, Heightening Tensions

In a recent incident, a Polish light aircraft breached the Belarusian airspace on November 2, flying as deep as 200 meters into the territory. Valery Revenko, the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation and Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Belarus, made this announcement on his social media page.

Revenko wrote, “The Polish aircraft repeatedly crossed the state border of our republic during patrols.”

According to the assistant minister’s information, Poland has committed five incidents since September 2023, which can be described as “on the edge.”

Shortly before this incident, Martin Wojciechowski, the Chargé d’affaires of Poland in Minsk, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, where a protest was lodged against the violation of the state border by the Polish aircraft.

Meanwhile, the operational command of the Armed Forces of Poland has repeatedly refuted Minsk’s claims of a Polish helicopter crossing the Belarusian border.

Previously, Lukashenko stated that Lithuania and Poland had “shot themselves in the foot” with their provocations against Belarus.
