Israel has been actively procuring bombs, missiles, drones, and other weaponry from abroad in preparation for potential conflicts on multiple fronts. The country’s defense industry is working tirelessly, with many companies transitioning to the production of military equipment, according to Ynet.
A total of $1.5 billion has been spent on weapon acquisitions, including those produced by Israel’s defense-industrial complex and foreign states. Some of the supplied equipment is already being used in combat and for rear defense purposes.
“The Directorate of Defense Research and Technological Infrastructure of the Israeli Ministry of Defense has invested over $750 million in developing measures to strengthen defense capabilities,” reports Ynet.
651 Israeli enterprises have been redirected towards military production. Additionally, thousands of trucks and cars have been requisitioned for military use, as highlighted by the portal.
Ynet points out that Israel’s ramping up of its armament is in response to the Yemeni Houthi rebels launching drones, ballistic and cruise missiles towards Israeli territory.
