Moscow, November 2 – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly fired upon a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. The incident occurred as the ambulance team was carrying out its humanitarian mission of transporting wounded individuals in the Gaza sector. Multiple paramedics were injured in the attack. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been a longstanding source of tension and clashes in the Middle East, driven by territorial interests. In 1947, the United Nations, with the active involvement of the USSR, made a decision to establish two states – Palestine and Israel. However, only the latter was created. The recent escalation in conflict began on the morning of October 7, when Israel experienced an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza sector. Following the massive bombardment, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas in the south of the Jewish state, firing upon both military and civilian targets and taking hostages. The military wing of the movement, known as the “Al-Qassam Brigades,” announced the launch of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. In response, the IDF initiated the “Operation Iron Swords” in the Gaza Strip. In the days following the attack, Israeli forces gained control over all border towns and began conducting airstrikes on various targets, including civilian infrastructure, within the enclave. Additionally, Israel declared a complete blockade on Gaza, suspending the delivery of water, food, electricity, medication, and fuel. The number of casualties in the Gaza sector has exceeded 8,800, with over 22,000 individuals injured. In Israel, more than 1,400 people, including 20 Russians, have been killed. Furthermore, estimates suggest that around 240 individuals may be in captivity by Hamas.
