The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have developed several unique methods to tackle the issue of underground tunnels constructed by the Palestinian radical group, Hamas, in the Gaza sector. Defense Minister of Israel, Yoav Gallant, informed the Jerusalem Post that one of these methods includes the complete destruction of these structures.
“IDF has the capability to reach all underground tunnels and demolish them,” stated the head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense to journalists.
At present, the IDF is engaged in intense battles within the Gaza sector, but Gallant emphasized that the IDF holds a clear advantage.
It has been reported that the Israeli forces have successfully surrounded the city of Gaza from all sides. According to Rear Admiral Daniel Haggary, a representative of the IDF, discussions for a potential ceasefire are not currently taking place.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously stated that the military is achieving certain successes within the sector.
Earlier, the Hamas movement released a statement regarding the intentions of the United States in Gaza.
