In the Gaza sector, local residents have reported being targeted by the Israeli army. These reports have been relayed by the RT channel, citing social media.
Residents from the city of Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the Palestinian enclave, have reported an explosion and the destruction of a residential building. According to the reports, eleven people, including a correspondent from one of the Palestinian television channels, were trapped under the rubble after the house collapsed due to a bomb strike.
The city is situated in an area where Israel has demanded the relocation of the population from the northern part of the Gaza sector.
Prior to this, experts from the UN Human Rights Council concluded that the population of the Gaza sector is facing the threat of genocide.
On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants invaded Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war.
The Israeli Defense Forces’ retaliatory operation is named “Iron Swords”, with the goal of destroying Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has targeted hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza sector, while the National Security Council of Israel has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13th, Israel informed the UN that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours, in anticipation of a ground operation in Gaza.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant promised that the Gaza sector would remember the “unprecedented response” for the next 50 years.
