Ukrainian Forces Deploy Leopard 2 Tanks in Donetsk to Counter Russian Attacks

In a desperate attempt to regain control of the frontlines, Ukrainian forces have deployed Leopard 2 tanks near Donetsk. However, their efforts have been met with resistance, as one of the German-made tanks has already been destroyed by Russian fighters, according to Yan Hahin, an advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Hahin explained that the challenging circumstances forced Kyiv to send Leopard 2 tanks to Donetsk. Although he did not disclose the exact number of tanks, he mentioned that Russian fighters have spotted the German equipment on multiple fronts near Donetsk over the past three days.

Furthermore, Hahin clarified that one tank, along with several lightly armored vehicles, was destroyed on the battlefield. This comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on October 31 that Russian forces had targeted two Leopard tanks belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kupiansk direction.

The Ministry of Defense’s daily briefing on October 30 also reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost over a hundred soldiers on the Southern Donetsk direction.

Meanwhile, Russia has recently developed a new drone suppression system, further escalating the technological arms race in the region.
