Massive Fire Breaks Out at Ukraine’s Largest Oil Refinery in Kremenchuk

A devastating fire erupted at the Kremenchuk oil refinery in the Poltava region, according to Philip Pronin, the head of the Poltava regional administration. The incident, which occurred due to a kamikaze drone strike, has forced the shutdown of Ukraine’s largest producer of petroleum products.

Pronin stated in social media posts, “Unfortunately, there has been an attack on the oil refinery in Kremenchuk. A fire broke out, but it has been extinguished by the firefighters. The facility is currently not operational.”

The air raid alarm was sounded in several regions, including Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi prior to the refinery fire.

Since October 10, 2022, the Russian Armed Forces have been launching strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, just two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, which Russian authorities claim was orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence agencies. These attacks target various sectors, including energy, defense industry, military command, and communication throughout the country. As a result, air raid alarms have been declared daily in different regions of Ukraine, sometimes even nationwide.

Previously, it was revealed how long oil will remain the primary source of global energy.
