Israeli ground forces have successfully breached the defense line of the Palestinian movement Hamas in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. This announcement was made by the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Brigadier General Daniel Higari, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We have broken through the frontline of Hamas’ defense in the north of the Gaza Strip,” Higari stated. He emphasized that this achievement was made possible through meticulous planning and precise intelligence gathered by the IDF.
He further explained that the Israeli military employed combined and coordinated attacks from land, sea, and air to break through the defense.
It was previously reported that since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the IDF has targeted over 11,000 locations in the Gaza Strip. The IDF assured that these strikes were aimed at terrorist organizations’ facilities.
Israel launched a military operation against Hamas after the movement’s forces fired thousands of rockets on October 7th. During the surprise attack, thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory, resulting in the capture of hundreds of hostages. Some of them were released following negotiations between the parties.
Earlier, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Colombia and Chile to openly condemn Hamas.
