Israel Reluctant to Launch Full-scale Ground Operation in Gaza, Cautious of Hamas’ Defensive Capabilities

In a recent analysis on Tsargrad.tv, political analyst Evgeny Mikhailov highlighted Israel’s cautious approach towards conducting a full-scale ground operation in the Gaza Strip. According to Mikhailov, the strategy of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) currently revolves around attempting to gain control over small portions of land for accountability purposes.

Mikhailov noted that Israeli forces are wary of conducting a complete ground operation due to concerns raised by several analysts. It is believed that if the IDF were to enter deep into the Gaza Strip all at once, they could face a devastating defeat, particularly in urban settings. This is because Hamas possesses significant defensive underground structures from where they can unexpectedly launch attacks.

Furthermore, Mikhailov added that Israel will continue to strictly adhere to the advice of Washington, which has already recommended the implementation of an alternative tactic to avoid mass bloodshed.

On the night of November 1, Al Arabiya reported that the IDF was launching an assault on the Gaza Strip from five different directions. Clashes were observed in the vicinity of the Beit Hanoun crossing point. The Israeli ground forces’ actions are being carried out simultaneously with airstrikes and artillery shelling.

Prior to this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the war in the Gaza Strip would be costly for the Hamas movement.

Earlier, the Israeli military announced the interception of an aerial target over the Red Sea.
