Increasing Number of Ukrainian Soldiers Desert Positions near Kupyansk

A retired lieutenant colonel of the People’s Militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), military expert Andrey Marochko, has revealed that Ukrainian soldiers are increasingly deserting their positions near Kupyansk. Marochko shared this information with RIA Novosti.

“In the areas of the settlements of Synkovka, Petropavlovka, and Berestove, several cases of unauthorized abandonment of positions by Ukrainian servicemen have been identified. This trend is on the rise compared to the previous week,” stated Marochko.

Marochko identified the main method of desertion as soldiers changing into civilian clothes and attempting to escape during the night. Ukrainian soldiers are seeking to leave the combat zone.

Previously, retired lieutenant colonel Andrey Marochko had reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian police special unit “KORD” had targeted “defectors” within the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Kupyansk direction. The intelligence agencies are attempting to forcefully eradicate the trend of UAF servicemen refusing to obey orders.

Earlier, a Ukrainian military official had revealed Kiev’s demand to seize Horlivka.
