A chilling incident unfolded in Brooklyn, New York, as a man wanted for the execution-style killing of his two neighbors was fatally shot by police during a Wednesday morning standoff. The suspect, Jason Pass, 47, had been captured on video shooting the victims to death during a dispute over noise. The situation escalated when Pass allegedly charged at the police with a knife during a traffic stop and was subsequently shot and killed. Pass had been identified as the suspect who shot and killed a father and his stepson inside an apartment building at Flatbush Gardens. The shooting stemmed from a reported dispute over loud noise.
The incident began when police received a hit on Pass’s car’s license plate and stopped the vehicle in south Brooklyn. Pass initially engaged in a conversation with the police before suddenly lunging at them with a knife. In response, the police opened fire and critically injured Pass, who later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
CCTV footage captured the horrifying moments when Pass shot the victims, identified as Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and Mod Chinwai, 27, execution-style in a corridor at Flatbush Gardens. The video showed Pass confronting Mathurin and pointing a gun at him. Mathurin’s wife intervened, but Pass proceeded to open fire, hitting Mathurin multiple times. He then turned his attention to Chinwai, shooting him in the head multiple times.
According to reports, Pass had become incensed over noise coming from the victims’ apartment and had gone to confront them. The dispute escalated, leading to the tragic shooting. Nine .45-caliber shell casings and five bullet fragments were recovered from the hallway.
The victims’ family had been involved in a long-standing dispute about noise with Pass, but they deny causing any disturbance on the night of the incident. The grieving widow, Marie Delille, who is originally from Haiti, demanded justice for her family and questioned why Pass brought a gun to tear her family apart.
