US Continues to Control Bioobjects in Ukraine, Planning to Reactivate Them After Conflict

During a recent briefing, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops (RChBZ) in Russia, stated that the United States is still maintaining control over certain bioobjects in Ukraine, with the intention of resuming their activities once the military conflict is over. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

Kirillov emphasized that the United States has a significant interest in conducting research in Ukraine.

“The American administration retains control over some Ukrainian bioobjects, hoping to reactivate them after the conflict,” Kirillov said.

He also reminded that in December of last year, the American company CH2M Hill confirmed its intention to continue collecting dangerous pathogens in western Ukraine, despite reducing the number of laboratories storing these collections. This confirmation was provided in a letter to Ukrainian contractors.

“Among other tasks, there is a focus on monitoring the sanitary and epidemiological situation and implementing hardware-software systems for managing bio-risks,” added the Lieutenant General.

Kirillov underscored that Ukrainian organizations are required to submit reports on the work they have done in these areas.

In September, Kirillov expressed his belief that the work of US biological laboratories worldwide poses a constant bio-threat.

Previously, the strength of Russia’s “red lines” was called into question in the United States.
