Over 20,000 soldiers from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have entered the Gaza Strip since October 27th, according to American news portal Axios, citing sources.
As stated in the report, the Palestinian enclave is currently occupied by at least one infantry division and two armored divisions of Israeli troops. The military personnel are using sources within Gaza to locate hostages and facilitate their release from the captivity of the Palestinian movement Hamas, the article emphasizes.
“Over 20,000 Israeli soldiers have entered the Gaza Strip since the start of the operation on Friday,” the publication states.
On October 31st, the IDF spokesperson announced that Israeli soldiers had attacked a Palestinian outpost in the northern Gaza Strip. This led to intense fighting between IDF fighters and members of Hamas.
According to the IDF, Israeli forces have destroyed dozens of bombers and several observation posts during the clashes. Additionally, the military has seized a large quantity of Hamas ammunition.
Earlier, the United States stated that Israel is conducting operations in the Gaza Strip without considering the recommendations of Western partners.
