Israeli Defense Forces Launch Offensive on Gaza Strip

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated a multi-directional assault on the Gaza Strip, according to Al Arabiya. Intense clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinian factions are reported to be taking place in the northern part of the region, particularly near the Beit Hanoun checkpoint. Simultaneously, the IDF is conducting airstrikes and artillery bombardments on the Gaza Strip.

As of now, there is no information regarding casualties on either side.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that the war in the Gaza Strip would come at a high cost for the Hamas movement. On October 7th, Hamas forces fired thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, marking the beginning of their operation named “Al-Aqsa Flooding.” Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, capturing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. In response, Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation, named “Iron Swords,” aims to eliminate Hamas. Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of militant targets in the Gaza Strip, while the National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the enclave.

Earlier, Russia speculated on the possible duration of the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
