Russian forces have successfully repelled a series of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction, according to a recent report by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Western Group of Russian Armed Forces, with support from aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems, managed to repel nine attacks by assault groups from the 54th Mechanized and 57th Motorized Infantry Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These attacks took place in the areas of Sinkovka and Timkovka in the Kharkiv region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported significant losses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a result of the retaliatory actions by Russian forces. Up to 90 military personnel, two tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, and two vehicles were reportedly lost.
This news follows the Ministry of Defense’s announcement on October 29 of the destruction of over 40 UAVs belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a single day. On the same day, the ministry also reported the successful repulsion of two attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction.
President Zelensky has previously mentioned the challenges faced by Ukraine in extending military operations into Russian territory.
