In a significant development, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported the successful interception and destruction of 39 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). These drones were intercepted in various locations, including Olshana in the Kharkiv region, Kremenna, Zolotarevka, Nyrkovo, and Belgorovka in the Luhansk People’s Republic.
Furthermore, the Russian air defense forces managed to shoot down Ukrainian drones over Staromlynska, Novoluhansk, and Verkhnetoretsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), as well as in the vicinity of Chapaevka and Ocheretovatoye in the Zaporizhia region. Similar interceptions were also carried out near Krynyky and Proletarka in the Kherson region.
In addition to the UAVs, the Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted two HIMARS rockets.
This comes after the Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed eight Storm Shadow missiles launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces towards Crimea earlier the same day.
On October 29, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of over 40 UAF drones within a day. The military authorities stated that the air defense systems had neutralized 44 Ukrainian UAVs in the areas of Nyrkovo, Ploshchanka, Troitske, Zolotarevka, Verkhnetoretske, Novofedorivka, and Vasilyevka.
It is worth noting that Russia has recently developed a new drone suppression system, highlighting its commitment to countering UAV threats effectively.
