The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not confirmed the presence of Israeli troops in Gaza, according to a spokesperson for the IDF, Rear Admiral Daniel Haggari, as reported by Reuters.
Haggari stated during a recent press briefing that Israeli forces are deployed along the country’s northern border and are prepared for any scenario.
As per the agency’s report, Haggari mentioned that Israeli forces destroyed dozens of militants from Gaza overnight. However, he declined to confirm the location of ground troops after images surfaced on social media showing Israeli tanks advancing on the main road in Gaza.
According to Haggari, the Israeli military is gradually moving forward according to plan.
The representative of the Israeli army also added that the world and its institutions are responsible for ensuring security and the return of hostages held by the Palestinian group Hamas.
On October 30, tanks belonging to the Israeli army were reportedly spotted in the Gaza sector.
Earlier, Hamas stated that it would release foreign hostages “when circumstances allow.”
