Israeli Soldier Freed from Hamas Captivity in Gaza

Israeli military forces have successfully freed a female soldier who was held captive by the Palestinian group Hamas during ground operations in the Gaza Strip. The news was announced by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson on Telegram.

According to the IDF statement, Private Uri Magidish, who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, was rescued during a ground operation conducted today. The statement also mentioned that the freed soldier is in good health and has reunited with her family.

On October 30, the Palestinian radical group Hamas released a video on their Telegram channel featuring three women who they claimed were Israeli citizens held captive by them. In the footage, one of the hostages addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The woman expressed that the Hamas captives are suffering due to the “political and military failure” and the “setback” caused by Israeli authorities on October 7.

On October 7, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating the “Al-Aqsa Flooding” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, capturing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation was named “Iron Swords,” with the aim of eliminating Hamas. Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on hundreds of militant targets in the Gaza Strip, while the National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the enclave.

Earlier, Russia speculated on the possible duration of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
