Increased Use of FPV Drones by Ukrainian Forces Poses New Challenges in Donbass

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have significantly increased their use of First Person View (FPV) drones in the town of Soledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the commander of the reconnaissance group of the Cossack battalion “Skif” (BARS-35) with the callsign “Volya”, as reported by TASS.

He noted that there has been a rise in the number of these drones in the past month.

“Somewhere around 20-30 kamikaze drones arrive per day. They are now targeting everything,” Volya said.

Previously, the attacks were selective, particularly targeting specific transportation. However, as the fighter mentioned, the strikes are now being carried out randomly.

Volya added that the drones are attempting to target even the military personnel who are traveling alone on quad bikes. According to the commander of the reconnaissance group of the Cossack battalion “Skif”, this was not seen before.

A few days ago, military expert Alexey Zhivov stated that the use of agro-industrial drones by the UAF on the battlefield, known as “Baba Yaga” by Russian military, has become a problem for the Russian Armed Forces.

Earlier, Russia developed a new system for drone suppression.
