Israeli Defense Forces Thwart Rocket Attack from Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reported successfully preventing a rocket attack from Lebanon. The announcement was made on the IDF’s Telegram channel.

According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, a terrorist cell attempted to launch anti-tank rockets from Lebanon into the Avivim area of Israel. The IDF swiftly responded and targeted the terrorist cell.

Prior to this incident, the IDF had also reported strikes on Hamas targets and clashes in the northern Gaza Strip.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from Gaza into Israeli territory on October 7. Over two hundred hostages were taken during the incursion.

On that day, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israel and declared the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ operation has been named “Operation Iron Swords,” with the goal of eliminating Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted airstrikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.

On October 13, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern Gaza Strip within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation in Gaza.

Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons for the escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
