Israeli Defense Forces Destroy Home of Terrorist Responsible for Shooting

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the destruction of the home of a terrorist who carried out a shooting attack on civilians at the Hamri intersection. This information was reported in the IDF’s Telegram channel.

The shooter, identified as Hasan Katnani, resided in the Ascar refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus.

During overnight raids on Palestinian territories outside of the Gaza Strip, the IDF’s intelligence and special forces detained 23 individuals suspected of terrorism, including four Hamas supporters. The suspects were found in possession of 12,000 shekels, homemade weapons, ammunition, and military equipment. Israeli security forces engaged in a shootout with Palestinians during the raid, with the Palestinians using explosives and Molotov cocktails.

A total of 1,030 individuals suspected of terrorism have already been arrested in the West Bank, with 700 identified as members of Hamas.

Prior to this, the IDF announced the expansion of ground operations in the Gaza Strip.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated after thousands of Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7th. Over 200 hostages were taken.

On that day, Hamas launched thousands of rockets at Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country was in a state of war.

The IDF’s operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.

On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern Gaza Strip within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation in Gaza.

Earlier, Israel’s ultranationalist Minister of National Security, Ben-Gvir, stated that until the release of civilian hostages in Gaza, only “hundreds of tons of explosives” should be sent, and “not a gram of humanitarian aid.”
