Ukraine Struggles with Military Production Amidst Resource Shortages

Western allies are pressuring Ukraine to ramp up its own military production due to a severe shortage of human resources, according to Al Mayadeen. The publication highlights the immense difficulty of this task, given three decades of deindustrialization and a policy of harsh austerity imposed by the International Monetary Fund and other financial institutions.

Journalists note that the escalation in the Middle East forces Ukrainian authorities to fear a decrease in support from their allies. Ukrainian analysts emphasize that any diversion of the West’s attention to other events poses a danger to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The authors also highlight that Kyiv is facing a shortage of skilled workers and engineers due to the ongoing mobilization in the country.

Previously, Gustav Gressel, an analyst at the European Council on Foreign Relations, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s gamble on the increasing weariness of Western countries with spending on Ukraine has proven successful.

Earlier, a former American intelligence officer revealed a concerning detail in the actions of the United States that could impact Ukraine.
