In the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the Russian-backed forces have successfully destroyed a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft in the Kherson region, according to reports from TASS. The attack was carried out by the “Dnipro” group of troops.
The statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense also mentioned other successful strikes against Ukrainian forces. These included attacks on the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Aleshkino Island and a small railway bridge, as well as on a D-30 howitzer and its ammunition in the vicinity of Tyahynka. Additionally, a 120mm mortar unit and its ammunition were targeted near the village of Lvovo.
Prior to this recent attack, the Russian Ministry of Defense had already claimed that the Russian Aerospace Forces and air defense systems had destroyed a total of 31 Ukrainian aircraft and three helicopters since October 1st. The destroyed aircraft included 20 MiG-29 fighters, eight Su-25 attack aircraft, one Su-24 bomber, two L-39 combat trainers, and three Mi-8 helicopters.
It should be noted that earlier in the conflict, Russian air defense systems had also shot down three Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft.
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, with both sides engaged in military operations and exchanges of fire. The situation remains tense, and the international community closely watches the developments in the region.
