In a recent statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that they successfully prevented attempts by the Ukrainian side to carry out attacks on Russian objects using six unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night of October 28. This information was shared in an official statement on the military department’s Telegram channel.
The Ministry of Defense clarified, “Tonight, the Kiev regime’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack with UAVs of aircraft type on objects within the territory of the Russian Federation was intercepted.” It was further explained that the air defense forces intercepted four Ukrainian drones over the Oryol region and two over the Tula region.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense systems had shot down over 50 Ukrainian drones within a day. According to the ministry’s data, a total of 515 Ukrainian aircraft, 253 helicopters, and 8,200 drones have been destroyed since the start of Russia’s special operations in Ukraine.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that there were three attempted attacks on the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant by Ukrainian drones.
Earlier, Russia had developed a new system for suppressing drones.
