Israeli Forces Expand Operations in Gaza, Escalating Conflict

Israeli soldiers have entered the northern areas of the Gaza Strip, expanding the scope of their ground activities, according to an official spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Haggari, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Haggari stated that the country’s military personnel are gradually advancing in stages of combat operations within the Palestinian enclave. Meanwhile, the ground forces of the IDF continue to carry out operations within the Gaza Strip.

“The infantry, armored, engineering, and artillery forces involved in the operation are operating with the support of intensive air fire,” clarified the spokesperson for the Israeli troops.

He added that no IDF fighters have been injured so far after the expansion of the operation zone in the Gaza Strip.

On October 27, the press service of the IDF announced that the country’s military had struck 150 underground targets in the Gaza Strip. According to the statement, Israeli soldiers targeted underground tunnels and other infrastructure of the Palestinian movement Hamas.

On the same day, Axios published an article discussing a possible reason for the IDF’s escalation of operations in the Gaza Strip. According to media reports, the decision to expand the operation zone may have been made due to the failure of hostage release negotiations.

Earlier, Israel’s ambassador to France, Raphael Morav, assessed the possibility of foreign involvement in operations against the Hamas Palestinian movement.
