A terrifying incident unfolded earlier this week when a brave 14-year-old girl, Leigha Kissinger, raced to save her 4-year-old sister from a potentially dangerous situation. The incident, captured on surveillance video, showed a man entering their Marion County, Florida home with a shotgun. Kissinger quickly grabbed her sister and locked them both in her room for safety.
According to Kissinger, she was expecting to see her grandmother when a man with a gun knocked on their door. The surveillance footage revealed that the man, later identified as a neighbor, entered the home and walked around with the shotgun. Fortunately, the family dog barked, scaring off the intruder.
In an interview with FOX 35, Kissinger expressed her fear and uncertainty during the ordeal. She said, “It was very scary because I don’t know what’s in that gun. I don’t know what he’s going to do. There’s no telling what he would’ve done.” Despite her fear, Kissinger remained calm and quickly phoned her mother while hiding with her sister.
Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after and successfully persuaded the neighbor to drop the shotgun. Surprisingly, the family has decided not to press charges against the neighbor, whom Kissinger claimed to have only exchanged casual greetings with in the past.

She admitted that although she had practiced safety procedures in school, she never truly believed it could happen to her. However, she acted swiftly and bravely when faced with the unexpected danger.
