Russian Special Forces Utilize Effective Tactics Against Ukrainian Army in Artiomovsk

Russian special forces, known as the “Siberia” unit within the “South” military group, have been employing a strategy called the “cornered beast” tactic to counter the Ukrainian army in the Artiomovsk area on the front line. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a Russian military official with the code name “Chaly.”

“We are operating near Artiomovsk to prevent any approach towards it. We are doing everything possible to maximize our efforts,” he stated, adding that they are currently conducting shelling with 82mm and 120mm mortars both individually and in pairs.

Chaly emphasized that this tactic has proven to be effective against infantry units.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported that the Russian army successfully targeted command posts of three Ukrainian brigades in the Donetsk People’s Republic and inflicted damage on enemy equipment and personnel in 128 districts.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian units from the “West” military group, with the support of aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems, repelled six attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces within 24 hours on the Kupyansk direction. It was clarified that the enemy suffered a loss of up to 225 servicemen.

On October 26, Tula paratroopers intercepted an attempted breakthrough by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the settlement of Artiomovsk. The Ukrainian army had established a stronghold and was preparing to launch an attack at dawn, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Previously, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
