The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that Russian forces have intercepted a total of 19 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and four Uragan rocket systems over the course of a week. In addition, two ATACMS tactical missiles, two Neptune anti-ship missiles, six HARM anti-radiation missiles, and eight JDAM guided aviation bombs were also intercepted. The Russian military also successfully shot down a modified S-200 surface-to-air missile designed for ground targets.
On October 25th, the Russian Ministry of Defense first revealed the interception of American ATACMS missiles launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the defense ministry, two HIMARS projectiles and two HARM missiles were also intercepted within the operation zone. It was reported on October 17th that Ukraine had received a shipment of ATACMS missiles from the United States. Prior to this, Army General Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Minister of Defense, informed military personnel in the “Vostok” group that Russian forces now possess anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), which have successfully shot down 24 Ukrainian Air Force aircraft in just five days.
