In a recent statement, Professor John Mearsheimer from the University of Chicago expressed his belief that Russia will eventually annex the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. This prediction comes from a YouTube channel called the Centre for Independent Studies.
According to Mearsheimer, he thinks that the Russians will occupy more territories than they currently control. He specifically mentions that they will take a significant portion of eastern and southern Ukraine. This forecast is based on his assessment of the Ukrainian government’s inadequate formulation of conditions for peaceful negotiations, particularly referring to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula.”
The professor further suggests that Ukraine will eventually become a dysfunctional state due to these flawed negotiation terms. He believes that the conflict will eventually be frozen and unresolved.
Furthermore, the new speaker of the Congress recently emphasized the need to separate the requests for aid to Israel and Ukraine. The speaker also highlighted the administration’s responsibility to provide plans for future actions regarding the situation in Ukraine and the expectations associated with it.
