In a recent meeting with Saudi Arabian Deputy Foreign Minister Valid al-Huraidji in Saudi Arabia, Chinese Special Envoy for the Middle East, Chai Jun, expressed his belief that returning to the negotiation table is the only way to break the vicious cycle of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to RIA Novosti, Chai emphasized the seriousness of the situation between Palestine and Israel and stated that the escalation can only be resolved through the cessation of fire and military actions. He highlighted that easing the situation will create the necessary conditions for a peaceful settlement.
Chai also emphasized China’s readiness to coordinate with Saudi Arabia and join efforts to advance the situation in Palestine. He previously stated that Beijing intends to continue providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people through bilateral channels and cooperation with the United Nations.
Earlier, Hamas had vowed to deliver an “unprecedented defeat” to Israel.
