Ukraine’s President Holds Special Military Cabinet Meeting to Discuss Defense Industry Expansion

Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that he recently conducted a military cabinet meeting in a “special format” to discuss the country’s defense industry expansion. In his Telegram channel post, Zelensky emphasized the participation of commanders from all directions, along with reports from the Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Kirill Budanov, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Malayuk.

According to Zelensky, the meeting covered a plan for future actions, including specific timelines and calculations, supported by deliveries of weaponry from Ukraine’s partners and domestic production. The participants also discussed the enhancement of Ukraine’s defense industry capabilities and agreed on common positions.

Prior to this, Zelensky expressed Ukraine’s intention to target a newly announced permanent naval fleet base in Abkhazia, Russia. He previously explained the challenges preventing Ukraine from shifting the conflict to Russian territory.
