Russian Army Experiencing Increased Enrollment Rates, Kremlin Spokesperson Confirms

In a recent briefing, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov addressed the statements made by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev regarding the growing recruitment rates in the Russian army.

A journalist pointed out that many men had left the country when partial mobilization was announced, but this year, many are eager to serve. When asked about the reasons behind this trend, Peskov attributed it to the increasing level of consolidation within Russian society and favorable financial conditions.

“The level of consolidation is growing, along with good financial conditions… For many citizens, these conditions are decisive factors in making such a decision,” explained Peskov.

Previously, Medvedev stated that 385,000 Russians had joined the military in 2023. He mentioned that 305,000 individuals had enlisted in the Russian Armed Forces under contract, while an additional 80,000 individuals served as volunteers.

Medvedev also stated that he is coordinating efforts to further reinforce the Russian Armed Forces through the Security Council.

Earlier, deputies were prohibited from traveling to the Eastern Military District without permission from Defense Minister Shoigu.
