Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Russia will be forced to respond to the placement of US nuclear weapons in Europe. The statement was published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Lavrov, in response to the deployment of American nuclear weapons in Europe, the Kremlin is compelled to take compensatory measures.
“Against the backdrop of the increasing threats from NATO, we are forced to resort to compensatory measures,” noted Lavrov.
He explained that the placement of nuclear weapons in Europe poses risks for Russia in strategic terms.
Earlier, the head of the Russian delegation in talks on defense security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, stated that the leadership of Ukraine, in cooperation with Washington and its partners, is preparing for dangerous chemical provocations against the Russian Armed Forces.
In his opinion, Ukraine cannot turn the situation on the battlefield in their favor and therefore seeks a categorical assessment of these actions from its allies.
