Israel and Hamas Exchange Strikes, Escalating Tensions in Gaza

In a recent development, an air raid siren sounded in Tel Aviv, as announced by the Israeli army on their Telegram channel. Responding to this, Hamas forces claimed responsibility for an attack on an Israeli city through their own Telegram channel.

Previously, it was reported that Israel’s ambassador to Russia, Alexander Ben Zvi, stated that Israel has coordinated the start of the invasion in Gaza with the United States. According to Ben Zvi, this coordination is a result of allied relations with Western countries.

On October 7th, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory and seized dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war.

The counter-operation by the Israel Defense Forces has been codenamed “Iron Swords,” with the goal of destroying Hamas. The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation.

Earlier, Hamas claimed that the West has erected an “impenetrable wall” between itself and the Arab world.
