The head of the Politburo of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, has appealed to Arab and other Muslim countries for weapon supplies and financial support, according to the movement’s official Telegram channel.
“The resistance in Gaza continues, and I call on Arab and Islamic nations to support it with money and weapons,” Haniyeh wrote in his address.
According to Hamas’ Politburo chief, the continuation of Israeli military actions and armed aggression against the Gaza Strip threatens a large-scale escalation of the conflict in the entire Middle East. Haniyeh urged Arab and Muslim countries to seek an end to the Israeli airstrikes on the civilian population through all possible means.
Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, stated that Israeli forces were preparing for a ground phase of the operation in the Gaza Strip.
Galant emphasized that the ground part of the operation would commence at an appropriate moment.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to destroy Hamas.
