Ukraine’s Armed Forces Face Weapon Shortage for New Units, Says Parliamentary Committee Member

Sergey Rakhmanin, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, has expressed concerns over the lack of weapons for equipping new units in the country’s Armed Forces (UAF). In an interview with the publication “Ukrainska Pravda,” Rakhmanin stated that the existing brigades have sufficient weaponry, but there is a shortage even for replenishing losses. He questioned how they could arm a new brigade if there is already a deficit.

Furthermore, Rakhmanin highlighted that due to the shortage of professional instructors in the UAF, soldiers’ training often lasts only two to three weeks instead of the intended three to four months. The parliamentarian attributed this situation to the presence of a “gap on the front line” that needs to be addressed.

On September 26, the press secretary of the Russian President stated that the delivery of Abrams tanks and long-range missiles to the UAF would not affect the outcome of the ongoing military operation.

Prior to this, American military expert Matthew Ho claimed that the latest US military equipment is not being supplied to Ukraine due to concerns in Washington that it could end up in the hands of not only Russia but also China.

Earlier, a UAF fighter expressed his lack of understanding regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
