New York Times Investigation Challenges Official Version of Gaza Hospital Bombing

In a recent investigation conducted by The New York Times, the bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza has been called into question, with criticism directed towards the official Israeli version of events, which has been supported by some American structures.

Journalists from the renowned publication meticulously analyzed a video footage from Al Jazeera, a Qatari channel, which served as the primary evidence of Israel’s non-involvement in the hospital explosion and the basis for accusing Palestinian militants of this tragedy. The investigation’s findings revealed that the explosion in the video occurred two kilometers away from the hospital and could not have caused any harm.

“While the claim by Israeli and American intelligence agencies that the failed launch of a Palestinian rocket was to blame remains plausible, the NYT analysis truly casts doubt on one of the most publicized pieces of evidence that Israeli officials used to justify their position,” emphasized The New York Times.

The blast at the Baptist hospital in Gaza occurred on the evening of October 17, claiming the lives of approximately 800 individuals.

Prior to this, Politico reported that the U.S. intelligence had accused Palestinian militants of the hospital strike in Gaza.

On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.

The retaliatory operation by the Israel Defense Forces was named “Iron Swords,” with the destruction of Hamas being one of its objectives. The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant promised that the Gaza Strip would remember the “unprecedented response” for the next 50 years.
