Ukraine Works with Allies to Strengthen Air Defense Systems

Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that Ukraine is working with its allies to establish agreements for joint production of air defense systems. This statement was made during Zelensky’s virtual address at the German-Ukrainian Economic Forum, as reported by TASS.

Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s efforts to build “special relationships with the most powerful countries in the world” in order to provide Ukrainian cities with a reliable air defense shield. He specifically mentioned Germany as one of these countries and stated that they are also working on agreements with partners for joint production of air defense systems.

While Zelensky acknowledged that achieving this strategic objective will take time, he stressed the importance of continued support from Kiev’s allies in maintaining the country’s air defense during the winter season.

On October 23, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation of the Ukrainian Army, Serhiy Naiev, announced that Ukrainian military personnel have begun strengthening the air defense on the border with Belarus.

Earlier, Zelensky revealed the challenges faced by Ukraine in moving the conflict to Russian territory.
