The incident unfolded outside a restaurant in Houston when Micah Eckert, 25, allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and her husband during an altercation. According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, in the restaurant’s parking lot.
Both victims, a 44-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals and are reported to be in stable condition. Detective J. Ali from the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division provided details of the incident, stating that Eckert stabbed the male victim after a physical altercation escalated. Eckert was subsequently detained by a security guard from a neighboring property until law enforcement arrived.
Further investigation revealed that Eckert was dating the female victim and was confronted by her husband. The motive behind the altercation remains unclear.
Following his arrest, Eckert now faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
