Israel Prepares for Ground Operation as Decision Awaited

The Israeli army is ready for a ground operation, but a decision on its form and timing is expected at the political level, according to Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi.

Halevi also noted that “tactical and strategic” factors are delaying the start of the operation, but they allow for preparation.

On October 24, Israel’s Minister of Energy, Israel Katz, stated that a ground operation in the Gaza sector will take place. According to him, everything is going according to Israel’s plan.

The day before, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Israel is preparing for a new phase of the war, which will include a combined strike.

On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets at Israel and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, capturing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.
