Increased Ukrainian Aerial Reconnaissance Raises Concerns in Eastern Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have intensified their aerial reconnaissance over Lysychansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic, according to retired Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Marochko, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Marochko noted that there has been a recent increase in the use of reconnaissance drones in the area of Lysychansk and its surroundings. He highlighted that the Ukrainian army typically utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles with a flight altitude of 1.5 kilometers or more, which have excellent protection against electronic warfare systems.

Earlier, Marochko revealed that the UAF had employed “fresh” NATO ammunition in the Krasnolymansk sector. After analyzing the remnants of the HIMARS rocket projectile shot down near the town of Svatove, it was discovered that the ammunition was manufactured in 2023.

On October 20, Yan Hahin, an advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, made a statement claiming that the UAF had used chemical weapons during attacks on Russian positions in the DPR.

Previously, Borrell stated that refusing to provide military assistance to Ukraine would not lead to peace.
