Thousands Killed and Mosque Destroyed in Gaza as Israeli Strikes Continue

In the Gaza sector, more than 5,000 people have tragically lost their lives as a result of Israeli airstrikes since October 7th. The Gaza Ministry of Health shared this devastating update on their Facebook account (note: the owner of the company, Meta, has been declared extremist and banned in Russia).

According to their statement, the casualties include 2,055 children, 1,119 women, and 217 elderly individuals. Additionally, 15,273 citizens have been injured in the ongoing conflict.

Earlier, Al Jazeera, the Qatari television network, reported that a mosque located in the center of Gaza City was destroyed during the shelling by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The clashes between the Israeli military and Hamas have been escalating since October 7th, when Hamas militants launched attacks on southern areas of Israel. Subsequently, they infiltrated Israeli territory and took over 200 hostages.

In response, the IDF initiated a retaliatory operation.

Previously, Israel provided the number of Hamas supporters who had been captured.

Earlier, Hamas stated that they would release foreign hostages “when circumstances allow.”
