Florida Woman Arrested After High-Speed Joyride and Assaulting Officer

A Florida woman, Brittany Bianchi, was arrested on Saturday night after an alleged drunken and high-speed joyride. The incident took place in St. Petersburg, where Bianchi was pulled over for driving 120 mph in a 55 mph zone. During the traffic stop, she reportedly attacked a Florida Highway Patrol trooper with her fingernails.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the Gandy Bridge when Bianchi’s Mercedes raced past a trooper. As the trooper attempted to take her into custody for driving under the influence, Bianchi became violent and dug her fingernails into the trooper’s hands. It was later revealed that this was Bianchi’s third DUI offense in 10 years.

In addition to the DUI charge, Bianchi was also charged with resisting an officer with violence, battery on law enforcement, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and driving without insurance.

Footage of the traffic stop provided by the Florida Highway Patrol showed Bianchi shouting, cursing, and name-calling at the troopers. She confidently stated that none of the charges against her would hold up in court.

Following her arrest, Bianchi was taken to the Pinellas County Jail. Her bond was set at $17,800, according to online records. She was released on Sunday morning.

This incident highlights the dangers of driving under the influence and the potential consequences that can result from such reckless behavior. It serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the need to prioritize the safety of oneself and others on the road.
