Ukrainian Officials Warn of Potential Missile Strikes on Russian Territory

In a recent interview with RIA Novosti, Jan Hahin, an advisor to the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), expressed concerns over the Ukrainian government’s potential misuse of the already supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles to launch strikes on Russian territory.

Hahin believes that ATACMS missiles have been in Ukraine for quite some time now, with a small batch already delivered. However, he fears that the Ukrainian government, under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelensky, may recklessly utilize these missiles and target various locations within Russian territory.

Describing the current regime as a “monkey with a grenade,” Hahin suggests that it is crucial to take this possibility into account and strengthen the air defense of important Russian targets that could be within range of these missiles.

While Hahin does not anticipate any immediate future deliveries of such missiles, he emphasizes that Russia has the capability to respond to such provocations, and any response from the Russian side would be reciprocal.

Earlier reports have indicated that the Ukrainian military’s use of American long-range Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles in Britain was deemed ineffective.

Furthermore, NATO has stated that the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine is contingent on certain conditions.
