Russian Forces Successfully Repel Ukrainian Attack in Donetsk

Russian airborne troops have successfully repelled an attack by Ukrainian forces in the Artemovsk area of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Ministry stated that after conducting preliminary reconnaissance, including aerial surveillance using drones, they received information about the approaching Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) groups near the outskirts of the city. Through coordinated actions by the airborne unit, the Ukrainian attack was repelled.

The Ministry highlighted the significant role played by the AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher unit in repelling the attack.

On October 20th, the spokesperson for the “West” military group, Sergey Zybinsky, announced that Russian forces were able to repel 11 attacks and eliminate up to 70 UAF soldiers in the Kupyansk direction.

Prior to this, the advisor to the head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were using chemical weapons in the Artemovsk and Donetsk directions. According to him, soldiers experienced specific smells in the air before exhibiting symptoms of poisoning. Gagin added that the UAF was using chloropicrin.

Earlier, a UAF soldier expressed confusion about the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
