A military airbase in Iraq, located in the Anbar province in the west of the country, has been targeted by rockets, according to military sources reported by Reuters.
“At least one explosion was heard inside the base,” the agency specifies.
The airbase houses American servicemen.
On October 21, two drones were shot down over the Ain al-Asad base, as reported by the Pentagon.
“An attempted attack against the US and coalition forces in Iraq was foiled early on October 18. Two drones were shot down during the attack,” said a representative of the US Ministry of Defense.
No military personnel were injured as a result of the attack. The identity of those responsible for the attempted attack on the positions of American forces remains undisclosed.
Prior to this, Iraq’s Prime Minister, Muhammad al-Sudani, accused Israel of attempting to destroy the Palestinian people.
Earlier, Israel launched strikes on two airports in Syria.
