Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev of Sevastopol has refuted information about explosions in the city during an air alert in his Telegram channel.
“The Ukrainian media is spreading lies again. They are posting videos about a supposed ‘explosion’ in Sevastopol. This is false. There were no explosions in the city… Those who claim that the air defense systems were activated in Sevastopol are also spreading lies,” the statement said.
He noted that the air defense systems were on high alert, but no airborne targets reached the city.
On October 22, Razvozhaev announced that an air alert had been declared in Sevastopol.
Prior to this, he stated that the city had declared an air alert for the second time that day. It was canceled 16 minutes later.
Later, the governor of Sevastopol reported that a missile was shot down in the area of Kara-Koby, and its warhead detonated on the ground in a field. According to him, neither people nor infrastructure were affected.
Earlier, a new drone suppression system was developed in Russia.
