Four Inmates Escape from Georgia Jail as Stolen Vehicle is Recovered

The vehicle used by four inmates to escape from a jailbreak in Georgia has been found, but the prisoners remain at large, according to authorities. The blue Dodge Challenger was discovered in the parking lot of Biomat USA in Macon after investigators followed leads provided by the public. The inmates made their escape from the Bibb County Detention Center by climbing out through a damaged day room window and cutting through a fence. The individuals involved in the escape are Joey Fournier, Chavis Stokes, Marc K. Anderson, and Johnifer Barnwell, who were being detained on charges ranging from murder to drug trafficking.

Sheriff David Davis stated that the inmates broke out of the oldest section of the jail, which has multiple areas in need of repair. At the time of the escape, there were fewer than 10 employees working at the jail, which held around 800 inmates. The escapees should be considered dangerous, with three of them having prior records.

The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service have joined the manhunt for the escapees. The authorities have offered a $1,000 reward for any tips leading to the arrest of each inmate. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the inmates or the stolen vehicle is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.

Despite the recovery of the vehicle, the search for the four inmates continues as law enforcement agencies intensify their efforts to bring them back into custody.
