American Missile Shot Down in Donetsk, Sent to Moscow for Analysis

A missile from the HIMARS rocket artillery system, belonging to the United States, was shot down by air defense systems over Donetsk on October 21st. The wreckage of the missile has now been sent to Moscow for examination by specialists in the defense industry.

According to Yan Gagin, an advisor to the leader of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the missile’s warhead sustained minimal damage, with the majority of its body remaining intact.

The incident occurred in the Budenovsk district of Donetsk, where Russian air defense forces successfully intercepted and downed the American missile. The fragment of the missile fell within the city.

Subsequently, the RT channel reported that the downed projectile in Donetsk landed with minimal damage and has become a trophy for the Russian Armed Forces. It was noted that the missile’s guidance module survived after being neutralized by air defense systems.

On the same day, the mayor of Donetsk, Alexey Kulemzin, stated that the Kalininsky, Voroshilovsky, and Kuybyshevsky districts of Donetsk were subjected to shelling by Ukrainian forces. He emphasized that several civilian infrastructure objects were damaged as a result of the shelling, and four people were injured.

Previously, President Zelensky revealed the challenges preventing Ukraine from carrying out military operations on Russian territory.
