Ukrainian Drone Shot Down in Failed Attack on Russian Territory

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), made an unsuccessful attempt to attack Russian targets in the Voronezh region. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the agency, the air defense system (ADS) was activated in the region on the evening of October 21. As a result, at around 9:00 pm (Moscow time), a Ukrainian drone was destroyed in the airspace of the Voronezh region.

“The attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using a UAV aircraft type on the territory of the Russian Federation has been thwarted,” the statement said.

Further details of the incident, including the exact location of the drone’s elimination, are currently not specified.

On the same day, Governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, reported the activation of the air defense system in the region. He emphasized that the defense systems neutralized an aerial target in the sky.

Later, the head of the region announced the reactivation of the ADS. As Golubev noted, this time the defense systems successfully operated against targets outside the region.

Previously, a special rifle capable of suppressing up to 90% of Ukrainian UAVs was developed in Russia.
